Outside of WMHS

Quinn was sat outside on the grass by herself listening to music off her phone. She had accidently left half an hour early for school and no one was here yet. She also had a book with her so she flipped to the page that had the corner folded down and started to read. Her book was called pretty little liars and so far, she was loving it.
She heard someones car pull up before she saw it but she just assumed it would be a teacher of something. She switched to a different song and carried on reading pretty little liars.

Aria was a little early to school today, but she didn't really care. She didn't have any real friends anyway. She was the kind of person that liked to keep her distance from everybody else, she liked to be alone. Her secrets were much worse then anyone could imagine, the only way she could keep them secret was to try & avoid anyone else. She couldn't imagine what would happen if someone found out the truth...
Anyway, she pulled up outside of the school. She was dressed in her favorite outfit, her make up & hair were perfect like usual. Though, she knew no one would actually notice. They never did, the only time people noticed her was when they were making fun of her. She always put on a brave face, that's who she was. She never let bullies get the better of her, she never showed her weak side.
Her high heels made a slight clicking noise as they hit the floor. Her face was emotionless, like usual. She was always scared that one day someone would see her for who she really was, but knew that no one ever would.

Alex was sat outside under the shade of a large tree. It was a beautiful day and it seemed a shame to waste it. She had her headphones in and her i-pod playing her favorite song - Lady Gaga - Born This Way. She was trying her look at writing a song in the back of her jotter but she wasn't really having much luck at the moment. Don't worry Alex, can't be good at everything. she said to herself.

Today was kind of lame. Like, not the entire day, mostly just free period. Usually Finn spent his study hour working on homework with Rachel in a corner of the library or making out in the janitor's closet when he could talk her into it. Or sometimes they hung out in the choir room working on stuff for Glee or whatever, but everybody was busy today. Rachel was working on some big important extra credit project in one of her advanced classes so she couldn't meet up with him today and everyone else had something else to do except for Mike and Tina, but he so did not want to go there. Gross. Deciding to use his free hour to relax Finn headed outside and stopped at the big tree, seeing someone already sitting there. "Oh. Hey." he said slowly, scratching the back of his head. It was Kurt's cousin, the one who had moved in recently. "Um, I was gonna... but you're obviously working on something, so I'll just go. Sorry to bother you."

Alex looked up and pulled out her headphones when she saw someone. She was terrible with names but she recognized him from Glee Club. Alex put her note pad down. "Oh it's no problem, you can join me if you want." Alex smiled. She knew he looked more familiar than she could remember but she had been so wrapped up in her work she had pretty much forgotten everyone's face.

"Um.." Finn paused, unsure of what to do. After debating it for a minute he realized he really didn't have anywhere else to be, so he nodded and sat down a few feet away from her. "You're uh, Alex right? Kurt's cousin. I'm- I mean, well, you know who I am. I'm Finn, Kurt's step brother. Carole's son. I live upstairs." he blurted, still uncomfortable with the awkwardness of it all.

Alex smiled awkwardly. Then it came back to her. "Oh you're Finn! I've not had the pleasure of meeting you properly yet, and yes it is Alex." she smiled much less awkwardly now.

Finn nodded. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to shake her hand or hug her or whatever so instead he just smiled a little and pulled out a bag of chips and water bottle from his backpack. "Yeah, uh, you too. Properly. So... how do you like McKinley?"

"Yeah? That's good.. it's really good." He was happy to hear she hadn't been attacked by any slushies yet. Finn hated small talk, he sucked at it. The only things he was okay at talking about were things he dealt with on a daily basis. Figuring he didn't have anything to lose, he finally said, "So uh, things okay at the house for you? I know it's kinda cramped, what with Burt and my mom and Kurt, plus me and Rachel."

"Kurt's warned me about slushies...kinda had luck when it comes to ducking them...yeah everything's fine, cramping doesn't really bother me I got used to it backstage." Alex smiled.

"Broadway? Wow." He was impressed. "Have you talked to Rachel yet? She lives upstairs with me. We're sorta... married." It was always odd to tell people that. He loved it, but it was still weird.

"Oh, I'm quarterback on the football team and I'm on the basketball team too." Finn answered. "Between both of those, Glee, school, and Rachel I'm pretty busy. And I work at Burt's garage quite a bit too."

Alex said as she put her i-pod back into her bag "I've not really looked into anything else here...all I know is I'd never get onto anything like the Cheerio's even if I tried." Alex finished. She wasn't the most athletic person in the world or at all really. Yeah she had done gymnastics for a while but that was pretty much it.
