The Library

Blaine had been in the library studying when Kurt first texted him. He smiled in surprise when he saw his friend's name flashing across the screen of his phone, seeing as he assumed Kurt was still at Dalton and he wasn't expecting a text from him tonight. He picked up the phone, frowning in concern when he read that Kurt had a flat but feeling a bit relieved when his friend assured him that he was fine and with friends. He chuckled quietly as Kurt replied to his text about the curly hair, absentmindedly running his fingers over his hair and frowning at the large amount of gel it now contained. 'Just for you," he texted to Kurt with a soft smile. 'Don't you feel special now?'

He set his phone down and went back to studying, casually glancing at this phone every few minutes as he waited for Kurt's reply. When his phone finally did light up, he grinned and picked it up, his smile widening at what the text said. Studying? Or going down to Lima to hang out with an amazing guy? Well, that didn't take much thought. He quickly replied to Kurt's text and stood up to head back to his dorm to get his car keys. He ran his fingers over his hair again, making a quick decision to wash out the gel before he left to meet Kurt in Lima.

Reed sighed as he clonked a large Pre-Calc book onto one of the many mahogany tables. He hated math. It wasn't that he was bad at it, it was the fact that everything had to be a certain way. There was little room for artistic freedoms when it came to Calculus, and the inner artist in Reed cried as he opened the book and flipped to page 394.

Reed had so much on his mind lately, that he found it somewhat hard to concentrate. He wished that he had someone to talk to.

Blaine walked into the library, hoping to get some work done seeing as having a fabulous boyfriend that he was madly in love with made it difficult to concentrate on anything that wasn't Kurt. He spotted Reed almost immediately, and walked over to sit down across from him at the table. "Hey," he greeted happily, glad to have someone to distract him from actually studying. "What's up? Other than...Calculus," he added as he glanced down at Reed's book.

Reed sighed in relief as he spotted Blaine

"Oh, yeah, Calculus" he laughed, "Not much else, unfortunately. I'm bored senseless." he lied, and then asked , "How are you and Kurt?" he smirked, knowing full well that Kurt was all that was on Blaine's mind recently. He hadn't gotten to talk to Kurt or Blaine much recently because they only had eyes for eachother. He was glad that he finally got to talk to Blaine.

Blaine knew that he had given everything away the second Reed mentioned Kurt. He couldn't keep the smile off his face, and he looked down at his hands on top of the table before looking back up at Reed again, still smiling like the lovesick guy he was. “Things with Kurt…are pretty fantastic,” he answered, smiling mischievously at the vagueness to his answer. He figured that he might as well leave Reed guessing a few seconds longer before he gave him all the details of his relationship with Kurt.

Reed giggled. "Fantastic eh? What exactly does fantastic entail?" he was all ears and he knew Blaine was eager to tell him every detail of his new relationship. Those two were so perfect for eachother. He had known it since they sang 'Teenage Dream', Kurt was all Blaine could talk about. He played an endless loop of the song for weeks until Kurt transfered to Dalton (thank God!).

"Oh, nothing out of the ordinary," he said with a casual shrug as he tried to play it cool. "Except..." He threw in a dramatic pose and brought his finger to his lips as if deep in thought. "I do recall kissing him and asking him to be my boyfriend, if that's what you're wondering," he said slowly, his voice exceptionally calm as he tried to contain his excitement.

Reed's grinned widely, of course, this was not news to him, everyone at Dalton already knew about Kurt and Blaine, but it made Reed happy to see how over the moon Blaine was over the whole thing. "That's great Blaine! I'm so happy for you guys! But you know, " he leaned in closer to Blaine in a mock whisper, "We all knew you two would get together from the moment Kurt arrived." He smiled. "So...is that all that happened?" he asked meekly.

Blaine rolled his eyes, but laughed despite himself. But at Reed's question, Blaine's laugh was cut off as he looked at Reed in shock. "Oh..." He wasn't really sure how to answer Reed's question, but he knew there was no way he'd be talking about his intimate life with his boyfriend in public. That...would be most undapper, and he was sure Kurt would appreciate it as well if Blaine kept his mouth shut. "Well, yeah...that's about it. I kissed him after we sang I'll Cover You together," he said, knowing Reed (like any Warbler) would appreciate that little detail. "And then I asked him to be my boyfriend and he said yes, and things have been amazing ever since-- Not that they weren't amazing before, of course."

Reed laughed. The expression on Blaine's face revealed that Reed's first assumption was probably true. He flushed at the thought, but couldn't help but wonder. Reed wasn't a nosy person, and he often was the last to know any gossip around Dalton. It was interesting seeing Kurt and Blaine together. They perfectly balanced eachother out. Blaine was, dapper and Kurt was a diva. He had never seen Blaine so happy with anyone. Of course Blaine had his occasional crushes, but Kurt connected with Blaine on a level that teenage couples rarely did. It was almost surreal. "It's good that you're happy Blaine, it's been a while since any of the Warblers have seen you like this." He gave Blaine a friendly smile. Someday, he wanted what Kurt and Blaine had.

Blaine smiled, sincerely touched by Reed's words. He had been content at Dalton before, but meeting Kurt had made him a lot happier than he had ever been before. He figured that he should try and change the subject though. He knew that once he started talking about Kurt, there'd be no stopping him and Reed would have to smack him with that Calculus book to shut him up. "Speaking of people that make us happy...how's Shane?"

Reed's eyes widened like Bambi as his face flushed at the mention of Shane. Was it really that obvious!? Had Shane talked about him?
He really did make Reed happy, even if he was hesitant to admit it.

"I-We're-I mean-" he couldn't find a proper response, "He's...good. We've been spending a lot of time together. " he flushed. They had been talking a lot, and Reed couldn't help but hope there was more to their conversations, as confusing as the notion was. "I-I just don't really know what to make of Shane..." he admitted.

Blaine tilted his head to the side and smiled at Reed. He wasn't sure what to make of Reed and his brother yet, but he knew they made each other happy and if they eventually evolved into something more than he would be more than supportive. "Just good? You should see Shane's face when he talks about you. I don't remember the last time I've seen him so happy," he said, his tone casual as he smiled knowingly at Reed. "I don't blame you," he added in response to Reed's last comment. "Shane's...a unique type of person, and I mean that in the best possible way, of course."

"He talks about me?" Reed blurted out without thinking. He was curious, he couldn't hide that, even though he was embaressed at how nosy he was being. The fact that Shane had mentioned him to Blane made his insides do summersalts, and he couldn't think straight. He wondered if that was how Kurt made Blaine feel.

"Occasionally," he replied, smiling as he sat up straight in his chair. He knew Shane would kill him if he said too much, but he loved how excited Reed got over hearing that Shane talked about him when he wasn't around. "He doesn't normally talk about his feelings, but I can tell he thinks about you more than he cares to let on." He stopped himself and leaned in as he lowered his voice. "Don't tell him I said that."

Reed's heart leapt out of his chest as he nodded his assent. Of course he would never talk to Shane about this conversation. He would be far too embaressed. Reed was just discovering that he might have feelings for the boy, but he still wasn't completely sure, and didn't want to hurt Shane or himself. He was new to romance and still had absolutely no idea what to do. He had never had a crush on anyone before, let alone another boy. It was too much for him to chew on and Reed didn't deal well with such confusing situations.

He sighed, "I just wish I knew what I thought about him. It's all so confusing. I've never really been interested in anyone before. I don't even know what to do with myself around him." He was slightly embaressed to be talking about something so personal, but Blaine was an understanding guy, and he always seamed to know how to handle tough situations. Reed really admired Blaine for that. He always had his head on his shoulders.

Blaine smiled sympathetically. He was never really too confused about his sexuality, but he knew that a lot of people didn't work that way and he was glad that he could be there for Reed if the other Warbler ever needed someone to talk to. "I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you. Just...do what feels right," he advised with a soft smile. "There's no need to rush into anything. Trust me, Shane will be more than understanding." He rested his hand on Reed's shoulder and gave it a light, comforting squeeze before he pulled his hand back and rested it in his lap again. "You'll figure things out soon enough."

"Thank you Blaine, It really means a lot to me." he smiled "I hope I get things figured out soon" he then glanced at Blaine nervously. He had a quesion he had been wondering for a while, but was too afraid to ask. He took a breath and then asked, "Wh-when did you know?" he asked hesitantly, and then blushed as he clarified, "I mean, when did you know that you were-" he paused, he didn't know how to continue, "-actracted to guys?"

He hoped Blaine didn't get the wrong idea from what he was asking. He didn't want to be nosy, he was honestly curious. Maybe if he heard Blaine's story he would be able to figure out his own sexuality. It was nice to know he had Blaine's support.

Blaine just smiled at the question, showing that he wasn't at all offended. "I was..." He paused as he squinted his eyes and pursed his lips in concentration, trying to think of the exact age. "14?" He nodded and looked back at Reed with a smile. "14," he confirmed before continuing, "I mean, I had never really been attracted to girls but I never thought anything of it. And then there was a game of truth or dare with a group of people." He avoided the term 'friends.' Sure, maybe at the time he might have considered them that, but friends didn't ditch you once you came out of the closet and started getting bullied on a daily basis.

"I got dared to kiss this one girl in our grade. And...I guess she was pretty and all, but I just...didn't feel anything," he recalled with a shrug. "It was really just sort of awkward. Then I realized that I never really noticed girls like the other guys in my class did. But I noticed guys. They were all ogling over Kate Winslet in Titanic; I was too distracted by Leo," he said with a light laugh.

Reed's eyes widened. He had never been attracted to a girl either, or a guy for that matter. He had always thought he just never met the right person. He wondered what it would be like to kiss Shane, or anyone for that matter. He turned crimson at the realization. He had never been kissed....

"I-Well, I've never really liked anyone before. I've never kissed anyone..." His face turned white from embaressment. How pathetic that must have sounded.

"That's nothing to be ashamed of..." He smiled at Reed's pale complexion. At a first glance he would never picture Reed with someone like Shane, but now that he had seen them together he realized just how perfect they could be for each other. "That just shows that you're not the type of guy who kisses random people. You want it to actually mean something. I find that to be a pretty respectable quality in a person, and I bet Shane does too," he added with a knowing grin.

"Y-you think so?" Reed hoped he was right. He wanted to kiss Shane. He would be lying if he said he didn't, but, something inside of him was still hesitant. He was so afraid. He hoped Shane knew what he was doing, because he had absolutely no idea. He didn't know how to be close to anybody.
