The Evans Household Empty Re: The Evans Household

Post  Blaine Anderson Sun Feb 27, 2011 2:20 am

Blaine had been staring at his phone for about ten minutes. It had been at least a year since he had last called or texted Sam, and he was sure that his ex's phone number was the same. He still couldn't completely forgive Sam for what had happened, but after seeing him again at Kurt's house he realized that he couldn't keep hiding from his problems. He ran from his dad, from the bullies, and he wasn't going to run from Sam as well. If anything, he was doing it for Kurt's sake. Surely he'd be running into Sam again and things couldn't be as awkward as they were the night Sam had gotten drunk. He had to fix things and he had to do it now. Sam had broken up with him just like that and as much as he tried to deny it, Blaine wanted the closure he felt he deserved.

He took a deep breath and hit send, then slowly brought the phone to his ear as he waited for Sam to pick up, though he wasn't totally sure Sam would pick up if he recognized the number...

Sam was pulling into the drive way at his place, just coming back from the movie theaters. Where he, once again, saw the 'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never' movie in 3D for the third time since it had been released a few weeks ago. When he felt insecure about something or had a lack of faith, he'd turn to his muse: Justin Bieber and then sneak out to see his film once more for some further inspiration.

Feeling alive again, Sam strutted into his house with a radiant grin plastered to his face. That's when his iPhone buzzed in jean pocket. He pulled it out and checked the caller ID...his smile had suddenly faded away and was replaced with a rush of disbelief and pure fear. Was Blaine...calling him? Impossible. He kept denying what he saw but as his phone repetitively vibrated he knew that he couldn't doubt it any longer. With courage, he hit the 'talk button' and pressed the phone to his ear.

"Hello?"

Blaine's voice caught in his throat as Sam answered. He had planned out exactly what he was going to say to Sam, but now they were on the phone with each other and he had no idea where to start. His entire script that he had rehearsed was forgotten in a matter of seconds. "Hey," he greeted lamely, unable to come up with anything else to follow that. He inhaled deeply before continuing, deciding that he'd just have to wing it and hope for the best. "Sam," he began slowly, still hesitant about what he was about to do. "I need to talk to you," he confessed, suddenly feeling extremely vulnerable for the position he was putting himself in. "About us...what happened a year ago...and...just...We need to talk. Not on the phone, in person," he clarified. "So, if you're up for it then I can be in Lima in about an hour and we could meet up..." He trailed off and forced himself to quit talking, and held his breath as he waited for a response from Sam.

Sam felt his stomach churn as his heart beat hammered fiercely underneath his chest, as he concentrated on Blaine's voice. When he suggested that the two of them meet up, he literally thought he had stopped breathing. The only proof he was still alive was the fact that his heart was nearly beating out of his chest. After a moment of silence, Sam caught his breath. He paced back and forth as he answered:
"Sure, I mean- erm, it's about time," Sam buried his face in his hands as he rubbed his temples. He didn't intend on sounding so obnoxious. "What did you have in mind?" He dared himself to ask.

Blaine closed his eyes and winced slightly at Sam's comment. It almost sounded like Sam was blaming him for this talk being prolonged for such a long time, and Blaine sort of agreed, until he remembered how many times he had called Sam to try and work things out...and how many times Sam had ignored him. He knew that the main reason for their breakup had to do with Sam's parents, but he also thought that part of the problem...was himself. "Hmm...." He tried to think of a place where people wouldn't run into them. It would probably look odd for Blaine to be hanging out with someone he had 'only met once' as far as they all knew. "What about your place? If your parents...aren't around, that is," he suggested softly, trying to repress memories of Sam's parents when they had caught them together.

Although, Sam was fully aware that the only presence in his home was himself and maybe his grandma’s ghost…but regardless he whipped his head around as if to analyse if anybody had been witnessing his conversation on the phone. “I’m home alone,” he blurted. As he let his last words sink in, he flipped his hair ‘Biebs style’ as if a jolt of confidence and courage would automatically flow through. “So yeah, you can come here if you want…” his voice trailed off as a series of memories invaded his head considering the last time Blaine had visited. Yet to his benefit, his parents had traveled to Columbus for the week and he was house sitting while they were absent. Sam waited attentively for Blaine’s response.

Blaine felt his stomach knot up at the thought of being with Sam alone again. He could easily imagine just how awkward and uncomfortable it was going to be, but he figured it would be worth it if Sam agreed to what Blaine was planning on asking him. "Alright then. I'll...be there in an hour." He hesitated before adding a quick, 'See you then.' He hung up and made his way to his car. He glanced back at the school before climbing into his car and taking off for Sam's house. He'd be back before anyone knew he was gone.

He put his usual music on, but was too nervous to actually sing along with his Disney tunes, which bothered him since that usually helped put him in a good mood. The hour long car ride ended up seeming a lot shorter than usual, and before Blaine knew it he was outside Sam's house.

He stopped his car and remained seated in the driver's seat. He moved his hand up to run his fingers through his hair, only to pull it away as soon as he was reminded of the gel he had applied this morning. He tightened his scarf around his neck and stepped out of his car, before walking up to the front door of Sam's place and knocking without giving him time to back out of this whole plan.

The moment he had hung up the phone with Blaine, Sam had been pacing around his living room, feeling more anxious then ever for Blaine to get here. Attempting to calm his nerves, he put on J.Bieb's "My World" 2.0 but not even the up beat, bubble gum pop harmony of the Biebster couldn't seem to ease the butterflies that fluttered wildly in the pit of his stomach. Which he now noticed was surprisingly empty despite the butterflies...

He scattered to the pantry and went in full search for some junk-food. When he came across a bag of Cool Ranch Dorito chips his eyes instantly lit up with delight. Bingo! He thought to himself, as he pulled it down and didn't hesitate to tear the bag open. Sam shoveled handful after handful of salty goodness into his vacuum lips in which some people would to refer to other then his mouth. Normally, Sam would stray away from anything with a high salt level or...any food really...but he couldn't help to consume a heap load when he was in an uncomforting situation.

When the door bell ran, Sam leaped in surprise, nearly knocking the bag of chips out of his hands. Oh my god! Blaine was here! He took a deep breath and then staggered to the door. Before turning the door knob, he wiped his greasy hands on his jean pocket but didn't bother to clean his face. He opened the door and greeted Blaine with a grin that consisted of Dorito sauce. "Welcome."

Blaine stood outside the door as Sam greeted him. He had been thinking about this conversation since he last saw Sam at Kurt's place, but now that they finally had the chance to speak with each other alone, he had no idea where to start. "Hey," he greeted with a small smile as he finally walked into Sam's home, casually removing the scarf from around his neck as he entered the warm house that was all too familiar. He glanced around the living room, that really hadn't changed at all, then looked back at Sam. He smiled at the mess Sam had made of his face. Cool Ranch Doritos had always been a favorite of Sam's. If Sam was ever stressed or feeling down, Blaine used to buy him a bag and leave it in his dorm for Sam, but he pushed that thought out his mind as he realized he should probably say something.

"So...you're at McKinley now," he said, stating the obvious. Though, to be fair he had been extremely surprised when he found out about Sam's new school, and even more surprised to hear that Sam and Kurt knew each other. "Small world." He knew he was sort of beating around the bush, but he wasn't sure how to start this talk, and he didn't think it was the most appropriate conversation to have in the doorway of Sam's house.

"Hi there," Sam greeted as Blaine made his way through the front door. There was a moment of complete silence as they both let the atmosphere sink in. Sam noticed that his lips were growing dry...damn, what he wouldn't do for a jumbo tube of chap-stick right about now. In desperate need to moisten his lips, he licked them only to discover he had access Doritos forming the out line around his mouth. Panicking, he licked that all up as well, praying that Blaine hadn't noticed. But he doubted it, Blaine was one of those fellows that were so incredibly dapper that they had a built-in 'un-dapper' radar that practically beeped every time an undapper event had occurred.

"Come on in," Sam offered, as he ushered Blaine to make his way into the living room instead of standing there awkwardly. He noticed that Blaine had mentioned his enrollment in McKinley. "Yup," Sam nodded, solemnly. "Small world it is..." Unable to control himself, the lyrics automatically poured out of his mouth. "

"It's a small world after all...It's a small world after all...It's a small world after all...It's a small, small world." Sam sang, mimicking the hyped up voices and goofy little dance that the puppets at Disney world had performed. He was used to singing in such a high-pitch tone, listening to Bieber all the live long day. [Oh snap!] After reading Blaine's expression, he added: "Puppets? Disney World?" He snickered, "Another one of my stellar impressions."

Blaine followed Sam into the living room, taking his time as he looked around and noticed how not much had changed since he had last been here. THen Sam started singing, and Blaine tried not to laugh. He really did. But he couldn't help it, and ended up chuckling slightly as he rubbed awkwardly at the back of his neck. "Very nice. Still doing those impressions, huh," he commented with another soft laugh.

He fiddled with his scarf in his hands as he leaned against the armrest on one of the couches in the room. He glanced up from the scarf, instead looking at Sam with a more serious expression. They both knew why Blaine had drove all the way to Lima, but it didn't make the situation any less awkward, though Sam's singing did seem to lift some of the tension. He wasn't sure where to start, but he didn't want to avoid the elephant in the room any longer. "Sam," he began with a sudden surge of confidence as he turned back into his usual dapper self. "As much as I'd love to listen to your impressions and pretend everything between us is fine, I think we both know...why I came here to talk to you," he said, his voice soft but serious. He didn't plan on fighting with Sam. He justed wanted answers. "I'm not mad at you," he confessed as he continued looking at Sam, keeping eye contact as he continued talking. "I'll admit, I was upset at first, but I'm over it now. And if I'm going to be dating Kurt, who happens to be a friend of yours, then...I think it's about time we talked this whole thing out." I just don't know where to start. "I love him, Sam," he added hesitantly, hoping his words wouldn't be stepping on Sam's toes or hurting him, but figuring that he might as well get that out there. "And I don't want things to be awkward if the three of us are ever together again like we were that night at Kurt's place."

He stood up straight again, no longer leaning back against the couch for support as he took a few steps towards Sam. "The main thing I wanted to know...is why..." He took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment, trying to think of the best way to phrase his thoughts. "Why you ran off on me," he finished as he opened his eyes again. "I get that you were scared. Your parents found out about us, and I know what that can be like," he continued. The fact that they could both relate to having homophobic parents had been something they bonded over when they first met, and Sam was one of the few people who knew about Blaine's father's views of the gay community. "But...would it have really been that much trouble to call me after that? Your parents kicked me out and then I didn't hear from you after that. I called you, I texted you, and nothing. And then one day you show up at Dalton, and tell me it's over and that you're transferring? I thought I had meant more than that to you, Sam."

Sam couldn't help it as his mouth tugged into a smug smile. He was delighted that Blaine was amused with another one of his comedic impressions. In which he had made up on the spot but still delivered another humorous performance. "Yes, sir." Sam nodded enthusiastically as he let out a hardy laugh. "I'll never stop." Yet as he witnessed Blaine's expression shift into a more serious grimace. When he had acknowledged that they both were well aware that the reason that Blaine was here didn't involve juvenile impersonations, Sam drew in a heavy sigh. He nodded at Blaine to continue as he fiddled with the strings on his hoodie, while still listening intently to every spoken word.

What seemed to pour out of Blaine's mouth had left such an emotional impact on Sam. The whole topic had been untouched for what seemed like forever ago to Sams sudden transfer to McKinley and then the way he had totally redeemed himself from his past in order to make his parents proud and to live what seemed like a successful, happy life in high school. Yet here Blaine was, bringing back the whole incident and questioning Sam for his undetermined behavior towards it all.

When it seemed as if Blaine had finished, Sam took a deep breath as he let his words fully sink in. When he was ready, he allowed the words to pour out of him:

"I ran off on you because..." Sam closed his eyes, in desperate search for the right things to say. "I ran off on you because..I-I-was ashamed," he stammered the last bit. "Not of you. Not of us. Not even of my parents but of...myself. Sure, it was humiliating having my parents walk in on us, like really, really-humiliating. They'll probably never look at me the same again. But I had an epiphany that very same day, if we were to continue what we had from that day forward...I'd just be dragging you along for such a painful ride. Things like that were going to occur alot more with me as your boyfriend. A part of me was selfish and wanted you for myself but another part of me knew that it was best if we broke things off." He hesitated as he tried to read Blaine's reaction. "I don't believe that the way I did it was the best...definitely not. But you have to know my heart was in the right place." Pausing again, he caught his breath after rambling for so long. "I thought of you everyday after that night...even during my first few weeks at McKinley. Despite everything you always seemed to have crossed my mind..."

Sam had to battle with every urge of his body to refrain himself from shedding a single tear. "I wept like a baby the night I went to Dalton to break things off, it hurt most because...my parents didn't make me. Hell, they weren't even speaking to me at the time. I made myself do it. All I wanted was for you to be happy and to you know, live your life...find real love- like Kurt. Without me setting you back...I suspected if I had completely vanished from your life this whole thing would have just been a bundle of memories. I guess I was mistaken."

He officially had lost control and now was sobbing immensely as the tears streamed down his face. Dramatically, he fell down to his knees and crumpled up into a ball. "I'm so sorry, Blaine," he mumbled through his tears.

The Evans Household Empty Re: The Evans Household

Post  Blaine Anderson Mon Feb 28, 2011 4:04 am

Blaine listened to Sam’s side of the story without interruption. When Sam broke up with him, Blaine had been upset and angry, but as he listened to Sam speak he began seeing everything in a different light. Sam had honestly been trying to do what was best…for Blaine? Blaine had never thought of it that way, and he suddenly felt guilty for possibly coming off as blaming Sam for the whole thing when really Sam had done what he thought would be the least painful for Blaine. And really, Blaine felt like he should almost be thanking Sam, because now he found real love with Kurt and possibly…hopefully a friendship with Sam.

His chest ached with guilt as Sam admitted to crying the night he had come to Dalton to break things off. How had Blaine been able to think so selfishly by assuming that Sam had felt nothing that night? That he had been the only one hurt in the breakup, while Sam had gone off to be happy at his new school? Now that he knew Sam had been in pain the night of the breakup as well, he quickly felt the slight grudge he had held against his ex slip away.

Before Blaine had a chance to speak, Sam fell to the ground in front of him and Blaine wasn’t sure how to react at first. But within seconds, he was kneeling down next to Sam and wrapping his arms around the crying boy as he tried to comfort him. Before he came to Sam’s house tonight, Blaine never would have imagined that he’d be in this situation; comforting a crying, apologetic Sam. But after everything Sam had just admitted, Blaine wasn’t going to stand around and watch someone he had truly cared about be in pain.

“Sam,” he started as he tried to comfort his…friend? Ex? He wasn’t sure what Sam was yet, but he knew that he had to convince Sam that this wasn’t his entire fault, and that he didn’t need to feel upset. That Blaine had forgiven him for what had happened. “Sam, please don’t cry,” he said softly as he continued to hold the blonde. “I…I had no idea,” he admitted sadly. “I didn’t think you cared and that’s why I came here; to find out the truth.” He took a deep breath before continuing. He thought he had been prepared for everything, but as he watched someone as ‘macho’ as Sam Evans crying on the floor, he realized just how wrong he had been. “I never thought of it that way, Sam. I…I just assumed you wanted nothing to do with me.” He bit down on his bottom lip as he looked down at Sam. “Please don’t be sorry. I believe you, that you were only doing what was best for me—For both of us. I’m happy now, Sam, thanks to you. I have Kurt and he’s everything I’ve ever wanted. And you….you seem happy here in Lima,” he added hesitantly, unsure of what Sam’s new life was like at McKinley. “Just…please don’t cry. I was upset that night back at Dalton, but I get it now. And I forgive you, Sam. I honestly forgive you.”

He honestly hadn't been expecting to forgive Sam within ten minutes of talking to him, but after what Sam had just told him how could he not? Sam was a lot of things, but a liar was not one of those them. At least, the Sam Blaine had known wasn't a liar, and Blaine trusted Sam when he said his heart was in the right place at the time.

When Sam heard Blaine claim that all was forgiven, he dared himself to slowly glance up at him despite his vision was merely blurred by all the tear drops that dotted his eyes. Feeling down right foolish, he sniffled and wiped a stray tear that happened to have escaped and rolled down his right cheek. "You forgive me?" Sam questioned, with a twinkle of hope in his eyes. When he had fully trusted Blaine's words, he collected himself and stood up using every ounce of dignity he had.

"You were my first love," Sam admitted, he was astounded that he had confessed it aloud and more specifically right in front of Blaine. "I guess it might have been expected for me to have fallen head over heels for a guy since I had attended an all boy boarding school..." Sam bit his lip down hard as a flood of memories filled his mind of the first time he had ever laid eyes on Blaine...during his audition to join the Warblers. Sam had always blamed the passion that flowed out of that certain performance due to the instant chemistry he had with the male lead. As silly as it may seem, it was love at first sight...

Sam was on a roll here, since he had already admitted a stream of confessions he decided that another one couldn't possibly cause any harm. "I don't really consider myself bisexual or even gay," Sam blurted, acknowledging the fact that, that was his very first time in what seemed like centuries where he had said those words aloud directed to himself. "You know why?" Before Blaine could even pitch a potential answer, Sam cut him off-

"Because you were the only guy that I've ever liked...I can't even imagine looking at another guy the way I used to look at you. I remember the time that I made it official to myself, that I had an disputable attraction toward you...I wasn't even confused at all. I knew it from the start, the moment we locked eyes. It didn't occur to me that it was strange that we were both males." Sam paused, in order to catch his breath. "I guess when I had pictured being with you...I never thought of gender as being existent in any way at all."

"The only thing I saw was us...happy and in love," He had barely managed to mumble the last bit for he was choking on his own words due to the sudden return of tears that were over powering his speech yet not in the slightest bit over powering the meaning.

The Evans Household Empty Re: The Evans Household

Post  Blaine Anderson Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:06 am

Blaine froze at Sam’s confession. He could feel all the color leaving his face and he had no idea how to react, so he just stood there, staring at Sam in shock as he listened to every word. He almost found it hard to process what he was hearing. He had expected to come here tonight and work things out with Sam. He had expected for them to possibly lose their tempers, raise their voices, calmly talk things out, have their questions answered. He had been expecting any of those outcomes, but this…This he had not been expecting at all.

He had no idea that Sam had loved him. Even Blaine wasn’t sure of what his feelings for Sam had been at the time. Sam was his first boyfriend and Blaine had strong feelings for him at the time they were dating, and when Sam left him he had been crushed. But had it been love? Maybe at the time Blaine would have called it love. But now Blaine had Kurt. Kurt made him feel safe and loved, and Blaine knew that what he had with Kurt was real.

And then Sam admitted to being…Blainsexual? Blaine wasn’t sure how much more of this he could take, but he allowed Sam to keep talking because he needed to hear everything that Sam had on his mind. He had done such a good job at keeping collected and staying dapper, but this confession was starting to get to him and he couldn’t’ let himself lose it in front of Sam.

At Sam’s last words, Blaine let out a shaky sigh as he tried to figure out how to respond to this. He loved Kurt. He was madly in love with Kurt. But he really didn’t want to hurt Sam if he could help it.

“I need to sit down,” he muttered weakly as he moved past Sam and took a seat on the couch. He felt sick and he wasn’t sure what to blame it on. He wanted Kurt. Kurt would know exactly what to do in this situation. The boy had never had a boyfriend, yet he was so much more knowledgably about romance, unlike Blaine who really didn’t know what he was doing. That was why he had put off kissing Kurt for so long. He didn’t want to screw things up. He also didn’t want to drag Kurt into his life, he thought to himself with another sigh as he continued sitting on the couch with his head in his hands. Kurt knew nothing about Blaine’s history with Sam. He didn’t know about Blaine’s dad. It wasn’t fair, and Blaine knew it. But why should he have to tell Kurt about his home life? Kurt had enough troubles with Karofsky, and Blaine didn’t need to possibly worry Kurt with his own problems.

He looked up from the floor, finally locking eyes with Sam again as he collected all his thoughts. “Sam, I…didn’t know you felt that strongly about me,” he admitted quietly, not trusting himself to speak too loudly and risk showing how much this whole situation was affecting him emotionally.

He took another deep breath before continuing. He needed to know everything. “Sam…” He stopped himself, second guessing whether he should ask or not. He closed his eyes and tried to compose himself before opening them again and looking up at Sam. “I need to know if you still love me, because…I’m with Kurt now and I’m in love with him. I just…I’m sorry but I can’t return your feelings if you still love me, Sam.”

The Evans Household Empty Re: The Evans Household

Post  Sammy Evans Thu Mar 03, 2011 12:11 am

A smile slowly tugged on Sam's face when Blaine had insisted he was never aware that Sam's feelings for him were so immensely strong. He surprised himself for that smile hadn't been formed as forcefully this particular time, for he was being genuine. "Yeah," he confirmed, his face reddening in color due to how bashful he was right now and some after math from the constant crying. "I'll always consider you as my first love," as he echoed his own words, Sam noticed that they came out a lot less hesitant this time- much more natural.

Just when he was beginning to feel relieved and slightly comfortable with their conversations and his ground-breaking confessions, he noticed that Blaine was taking the opposite route. When he occasionally existed in Sam's inner thoughts and memories, he had always remembered him to be so wholesome and dapper. In the past, when disaster had struck it was always Sam who had the panic attacks for he was never good at handling awkward situations. While Blaine would just chuckle lightly at him overreacting and then he'd hold his hands while he determined how to resolve the issue that somehow turned out to not have been so bad...

Yet now, it worried him as he watched Blaine slowly fall apart after the whole confession. Sam's relieved smile and confidence had faded away as he witnessed the expression on Blaine's face. Was there something that he had said that was so incredibly wrong that it had sent him off edge? He continued trying to trigger what had eased Blaine until he dropped the bomb on him-

Blaine assumed that the meaning behind his whole confession was that Sam was still in love with...Blaine!

The sounds of Blaine's voiced started rapidly fading into the distance as Sam began to space out, for his mind was too occupied by a variety of thoughts making it terribly difficult to concentrate. After what seemed like millenniums, Sam finally pieced the right things to say to Blaine that would ease the tension as well as clear up some misunderstandings:

"No." Sam belted, hating the bitterness that was evident in his tone. "I don't still love you, Blaine. I care about you deeply and if anything ever happened to you..." He bit his lip down so hard he expected to taste blood in his mouth, yet he continued: "But it's pretty clear that the two of us have moved on. You're in love with Kurt and well," He hesitated when he got to the point about his current love life, which was total chaos. But that was an entirely different story and Sam desired to keep his mind set on his whole situation with Blaine...

"I'm...working it out." he admitted, leaving it at that. "I don't think you understood why I'm telling you all this. Maybe I don't either." The last bit had been so truthful it hurt since he was still having mixed feelings. "All I know is that after I released all of that off my chest...I know I can sleep soundly at night. In peace, assured that you knew, Blaine." Sam in a swift movement, sat closely beside him on the couch.

Closing his eyes, he pushed himself to admit one more thing: "I wish that I had the courage to tell you all that when we were dating..."

The Evans Household Empty Re: The Evans Household

Post  Blaine Anderson Thu Mar 03, 2011 12:58 am

Blaine let out a soft sigh of relief as Sam admitted to not still being in love with him. When Sam finished talking, Blaine turned to him and smiled. “No. No, I get why you told me. I’m glad you told me all of that,” he said with a confirming nod and another small smile. That was quite a bit of information, and he felt bad knowing that Sam had kept it all bottled up for so long.

He smiled sadly at Sam’s last confession. He rested a comforting hand on the blonde’s shoulder and gave it a light squeeze before pulling it back and resting it in his own lap again. “But you told me now, and that’s what’s important.

He glanced down at his hands in his lap, trying to process everything that had happened within the past twenty minutes or so. When he looked up at Sam again, he was still smiling. As nervous as he had been about coming here tonight, he was glad that he did. Everything had turned out far better than he had expected, and he could finally admit to himself…that he had missed having Sam in his life and the idea of having him as a friend was comforting.

“I care about you too, Sam. A lot. That’s why I came here tonight. I hated the tension between us the last time we saw each other, and I wanted us to be able to work everything out. I…don’t know if I can say that I loved you when we were together, but I do know that I cared about you and that our relationship wasn’t meaningless to me. You were one of the few people who understood me at Dalton, and I don’t regret any of it,” he admitted quietly.

He waited until he had eye contact with Sam before continuing with one of the more important things he had to say. “And I’m sorry, Sam. I owe you my sincerest apology. I should have known that you weren’t trying to hurt me when you left Dalton. After what happened with your parents and…” He trailed off as he looked at Sam apologetically, feeling wrong for the things he had thought about his ex after they broke up. “I shouldn’t have assumed the worst in you right away. I was just…You were my first boyfriend and everything was amazing, and when you left…I was hurt, and alone, and I didn’t know what to do. I thought you didn’t care about me and that I meant nothing to you, and I realize how wrong I was in thinking that. And I’m sorry.”

Sam patiently waited as Blaine bided his apology, he felt him tug a heart string when every word escape his mouth. He literally had to use the ‘mail-man’ method in regards into thinking of the total opposite of what was happening to refrain from tears. Sam noticed that he was never very talented at maintaining his emotions. With Blaine’s final word, he held his breath, as a moment of silence rapidly passed by. Instead of responding by speaking, he inched the slightest bit closer to Blaine. A warm, smile forming on his face he leaned in and wrapped his arms around him in a heart-felt embrace.

He had never hugged anybody in his lifetime like this; not when he cuddled with Quinn on their annual Friday movie nights. Not like the way he bro-hugged Finn and Mike after the team they were most fond of had scored a touch down. Nor when his mother still came in every night to sing a lullaby and give him a hug good-night. It wasn’t even like the way he had ever hugged Blaine even when they were exclusive.

This was a different, significant embrace entirely. It was taking its toll and was staring to evoke so many different heart-wrenching emotions. Losing control once more, Sam blinked his eyes frequently trying to prevent the tears from falling and landing softly on Blaine’s shirt. Though it wasn’t masculine in anyway, he couldn’t care less as he remained where he was, still grabbing tightly to Blaine. He felt as if he never wanted to let go…not because he was deeply in a love-trance or because he just enjoyed hugging boys at leisure. It was because this hug was the ending to all their mishaps in the past as well as a beginning to a beautiful friendship…

Sam, noticing they had been hugging for quite some time now, slowly pulled away and rested his hands on his lips. His eyes darted back at Blaine in an instant, “I think I love you, Blaine.” But not bothering to hesitate due to further questionable awkwardness…”Not like that,” he warned. “But as a friend…I think you could love a friend. Right? It’s possible. I never really loved one before…” Sam acknowledged the fact that he let his stupidity get the best of him and he was rambling senselessly. With no desire to ruin the special moment they were sharing, he caught himself off.

Blaine hadn’t been expecting the hug at all, so he froze up for a split second before smiling and returning the hug. He sighed deeply as he kept his arms wrapped around Sam, not realizing just how much he had missed having Sam in his life until he felt the smile appear on his own lips. He felt his shirt dampening from Sam’s tears, and gently rubbed at the blonde’s back as he continued to smile.

He was still smiling when Sam pulled away, up until Sam confessed that he did still love Blaine. Blaine’s smiled faltered and he felt his stomach knot up again. Hugging had been a bad idea. Now Sam was realizing that he did have feelings for Blaine, and everything was going to be more awkward than it had ever been before an—Oh. Oh. As a friend. Blaine smiled, feeling much more relieved as Sam quickly explained what he had meant. “I…think you can too,” he agreed, though he had never loved a friend himself, other than Kurt but that turned out to be a not so platonic relationship. “I’ve never loved one either, but I think it’s definitely possible.”

He continued smiling to himself, extremely pleased with how this entire visit had turned out, though he knew if he didn’t get back to Dalton soon Kurt would wonder what happened to him. When two people shared the same bed, it was fairly easy to notice when someone was late. But he knew he couldn’t leave just yet. Thinking of Kurt had reminded him of one other thing he needed to ask of Sam…

“I know…that I really have no right to be asking you for any favors,” he acknowledged cautiously as he kept eye contact with Sam. “But the thing is, I love Kurt and I tell him everything.” He cringed with guilt at that. It was a lie. Kurt knew close to nothing about Blaine’s family, and that had been entirely Blaine’s fault. As far as he was knew, only Sam and Shane knew about his not-so-wonderful home life. “Most everything,” he amended guiltily. “I never thought to tell him about you. I don’t know why. I just…never told anyone about us. It wasn’t until I saw you again at Kurt’s house that I realized why.” He paused before continued, giving Sam time to process everything he was saying. “It was because I still cared about you. Even after everything that happened between us, I still had no intention of hurting you and I knew that giving away your secret could easily have done that. But…I’d like Kurt to know about us,” he admitted quietly. He knew that he was asking for a lot, but he had to at least try. “You’re the only boyfriend I’ve had and you’re a friend of Kurt’s. If it’s okay with you, then…I’d like to be able to tell Kurt. I know he wouldn’t tell anyone else if I asked him to. I just…feel bad for lying to him and pretending that we don’t know each other, when really…you know me better than anyone else.”

The Evans Household Empty Re: The Evans Household

Sam couldn't have possibly wiped the grin that spread across his face after Blaine assured him that you could potentially love a friend. Although, he was aware that he and Blaine would never be in a romantic relationship again due to obvious reasons. But it made his heart go giddy-up knowing that they both shared that compassion for each other and cared deeply about one another. The fact that it was friendship actually made it all the more special. He now was given the gift of a friend who understood what he was going through, since, as unlike they may seem to most they were more genuinely alike then anybody would ever know.

He was just about to squeal with delight, pull out some champagne and propose a toast to a beautiful, ever lasting friendship. But Blaine had summoned him down to reality when his tone of voice had shifted back to serious. He assured Sam that he shouldn't be asking Sam any favours, which just made him shake his head. Until nodding it again, demonstrating that Sam was nothing but eager to assist Blaine with absolutely anything at the moment.

But he felt himself freeze in his spot when he mentioned opening up to Kurt with the honest truth about them. For a second his mind wandered back in time to vivid memories of when he had first met Kurt. He remembered the whole duet fiasco and how Finn had practically promised him he’d die of social suicide if he sung a duet with the school’s only out-and-proud homosexual. Plus, everyone would establish him as his fuck buddy. Little did Finn or anyone else know that Sam was immensely sensitive with the topic and as much as he wanted to keep his secret hidden he wanted to treat Kurt with pride since he admired him for being so sure with himself. Although, Kurt’s sixth sense and suspicion on Sam really put him at ease.

Next he tried to visualize Kurt’s reaction to everything. He could potentially feel irritated, or heart broken that they had kept this past from him for so long. But most of importantly, Sam predicted that Kurt would be more genuinely understanding about the ordeal. Although, they weren’t exactly close, Kurt definitely seemed like someone he could trust especially with such a relatable secret. Plus, Blaine loved him and Sam wanted to do whatever he could for Blaine’s benefit and for their friendship.

“Yes.” Sam mumbled, simply, nodding his head at him. “It is best if we tell Kurt,” he decided, finally making up his mind. “But-“ Sam hesitated for the slightest second as he put a hand on Blaine’s shoulder. “I want to be there when you tell him,” he informed, a smile slowly tugging on his face. “I think we should both tell him- together.”

The Evans Household Empty Re: The Evans Household

Post  Blaine Anderson Sun Mar 06, 2011 10:08 pm

Blaine’s eyes flickered down to Sam’s hand on his shoulder, then back to Sam’s eyes. “Fair enough,” he replied with a small smile of his own. “We’ll tell him together,” he agreed with a nod. He looked at Sam with newfound respect and admiration for the blonde boy sitting next to him. He knew that it would be a lot easier for Sam to just send Blaine to tell Kurt about their history, but the fact that Sam wanted to go with Blaine to tell Kurt the truth meant a lot.

He brought his hand up to rest on top of the hand Sam had rested on his shoulder, giving it the smallest squeeze before dropping his own hand back to his lap again. He had Kurt, who he could easily talk to about anything, but other than that he didn't really have many close friends. The Warblers were great and all, but he never really felt comfortable with talking about them when it came to certain things that he could only tell Kurt. And knowing that he had a friendship with Sam made it impossibly to stop smiling. “I…didn’t want to admit it to myself, but…I’ve really missed you. I honestly didn’t expect to get a friendship out of all this, but I’m really glad I came here tonight.”

He let out a soft, relieved sigh. He had worked out everything with Sam and gained a friendship with someone he had truly missed having in his life, and now he could finally be completely honest with Kurt. And although he didn’t mind the idea of doing it alone, he was glad that Sam wanted to be there with him. To Blaine, it showed that Sam honestly did care about their friendship and about Blaine’s relationship with Kurt.

He glanced over at Sam, his eyes lingering on the boy’s hair as he thought of something that had been on his mind since the first time he saw him that night with Kurt. “One more question,” he said, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. Ever since he had arrived at Sam’s house, the entire evening had been intense and emotional, but now that they had worked everything out he had to ask his ex something more lighthearted. “What…did you do to your hair?” he asked with an amused laugh as he reached over and playfully ran his fingers through Sam’s hair. “I know it’s been a while, but I know it was not this blonde when you were at Dalton.” He pulled his hand back, still looking amused as he lowered his gaze from the blonde hair to meet Sam’s eyes.

Sam nodded in agreement, with a smile that failed to fade away, as Blaine confirmed that the two would tell Kurt together. As much as Sam will still quite hesitant and concerned about the idea, he was willing to look past his fears in order to assist Blaine. He desperately needed to prove to Blaine that he was a loyal friend and that he would stand beside him through anything. Plus, he knew internally that confessing the truth about their past relationships would be another weight just lifted from his chests. Blaine and Kurt would continue with their romance despite the secrets and they’d both be happy- that was what mattered the most.

When Blaine had admitted to missing Sam and to being content about showing up here tonight, Sam felt his heart hammer with a slightly quicker pace. He was now feeling even more delighted and relieved then he had expected. “I missed you too,” he insisted, simply. There was so much more things he could say but he seemed so clouded with happiness that he was unable to say much more. Instead he just bit down hard on his lip before looking up again to beam at Blaine. “I wished that the first time we saw each other after all this would have been a lot more special and sincere, especially on my part. I should have at least been sober…” his voice lingered as he shook his head, shameful at himself for in taking so many beers the last time he had been with Blaine. “But this,” he reached out for his hand as he squeezed lightly. “This makes up for it,” he assured him, his eyes twinkling.

Yet from all the seriousness and emotion that had lingered through the atmosphere, Sam was completely off guard when Blaine had commented on his hair. Unexpectedly, he combusted into laughter as he released his light grip on the other boy’s hand to run his fingers through his shaggy, bleached-blonde hair- “Okay, I’ll tell you what happened but promise not to laugh?” Sam closed his eyes and leaned back in his seat as he snickered, preparing himself to tell the humiliating story. “Well, I wanted to look like one of those hot surfer dudes from that Spring Break movie when I first transferred to McKinley…so I put lemon juice in it.” He took a break so he could continue tittering at himself, “It was actually your boyfriend’s sixth sense who hadn’t let me get away with this…” he quipped, remembering all the times Kurt had offered to provide him with some special shampoo product for his bluntly dyed hair.

Though he felt as his heart plunged when he remembered having the exact same conversation with Quinn on their first official date, it hurt to admit that he still cared about her deeply but she hadn’t really loved him at all. Shaking that thought out of his mind so he wouldn’t let his sorrow get the best of him he turned to Blaine as he examined his newly fond best friend’s hair do.

“What about your hair?” he teased, as he leaned in to fluff it playfully. “I don’t recall you ever having such little lard in your hair before. I actually prefer it like this…it reminds me of a fluffy cloud,” he mocked as he demonstrated with his hand gestures how puffy a cloud was in his mind. “You should really tell Mr. Schue about your hair story…that man really needs to lay off of the gel.” Still amused with the whole conversation on hair he released a hardy cackle.

The Evans Household Empty Re: The Evans Household

Blaine opened his mouth to protest, knowing that it hadn’t exactly been Sam’s fault. Sure, he had been the one to get completely wasted, but it wasn’t like he was expecting Blaine to suddenly show up that night after them not seeing each other for a year. But when Sam squeezed his hand, he stopped himself from speaking and simply smiled. Sam was right; this conversation had definitely made up for the amount of awkwardness the two had to deal with during their first encounter. Now all Blaine had to worry about was telling Kurt. Although he had felt like he was doing the right thing by respecting Sam’s personal life, he had also felt wrong or lying to his boyfriend. They were supposed to be honest with each other, and he really hoped it wouldn’t be too late to tell Kurt about his previous relationship and that Kurt would forgive him for keeping this from him until now.

When Sam burst out laughing, Blaine prepared himself for what he could only assume would be an entertaining story. He listened intently, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he waited to hear what in the world had happened to Sam Evan’s hair. It wasn’t that Blaine didn’t like Sam’s hair now; it was just…really blonde.

Although Blaine had promised not to laugh, he found it extremely difficult to keep quiet as Sam confessed to using lemon juice in his hair, and he burst out laughing along with Sam. “You what?” he asked through his laughter. He wasn’t surprised that Kurt had noticed the fake blondeness right away. Kurt had an amazing eye for all things fashion and style, and there was no way Sam’s beach blonde hair would get past Kurt Hummel. “I’m sorry,” he apologized as he laughed out loud again. “It’s just…it’s really blonde, Sam,” he stated obviously as he kept laughing.

As soon as his laughter calmed down, he sat up a bit straighter, still smiling and looking amused. “Surfer dude, huh? Well, I guess you can pull it off. But lemon juice? Really?” He chuckled and shook his head, smiling as Sam fluffed his hair and chuckling at what he assumed was Sam attempting to demonstrate what ‘fluffy’ was.

“Touché,” he grinned, amused with the fact that both of their hair had changed since the last time they were together. “Kurt told me he likes it better without the gel,” he explained as he ran his hand through his rather unruly hair, smiling fondly as he thought of his boyfriend, though he didn’t admit that the lack of gel also had to do with how much he liked the way it felt when Kurt played with his curls. “So, when I’m not in class or at a Warbler practice I usually lose the gel. Glad you like it,” he said with a grin, running his fingers through his hair once more before dropping his hand to his side.

Blaine thought for a moment at what the New Directions director looked like, smiling to himself as he remember seeing him briefly after practicing ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside,’ with Kurt. “Ah, Mr. Schue did have quite the bit of gel, didn’t he? And people think I overuse it,” he said in a mockingly hurt voice. “I’ll see what I can do. Maybe your Glee club director and I can go to Gel Users Anonymous together.”

The Evans Household Empty Re: The Evans Household

Post  Sammy Evans Fri Mar 11, 2011 1:29 am

Sam felt himself regain the reddened tones in his cheeks when Blaine poked fun about his hair. Yet he laughed continued to chuckle alongside Blaine after he had finished telling his humiliating story. It was refreshing to embark in such light humor especially after they had just discussed such a topic with some great intensity. Words couldn't express how relieved and content he was to hearing Blaine's friendly, laugh. When he apologized for all the hair quirks and the laughter Sam simply just shook his head. "Nah, I get it. Putting lemon juice in it was a ridiculous idea," he noted, as he reached out to clutch one of the couch's pillows close to his chest. "But I just couldn't bring myself to walk over to the mall and buy one of those 'Beach-Blonde' hair dying kits..."

As the hair conversation directed back to Blaine's hair style, Sam couldn't help but to have pitched in some easy-going puns on his hair. It wasn't that it was a bad look for Blaine at all, actually, like he mentioned before he admired that he wore it much more natural now. It gave you this vibe that he more relaxed then ever before. But what really got the comedic part of it all going was the amount of gel he had smothered in his hair in the past. That's when Blaine had mentioned that the reason being why he had let it loose was in Kurt's best interest...

"Ah, I see." Sam observed, examining the fluff on his head once more. "So its for Kurt?" He questioned, cocking his eyebrow at him. "Well," he snickered, "That dude totally knows everything about hair so if anybody he'd be the one who'd wake you up from your slumber of sleeping alongside Will Schuester outside in the dumpsters with that marvelous pile of empty hair gel bottles..." Sam suddenly trailed off when he read the puzzled expression which had formed on Blaine's face.

"Right, you never met Sue Sylvester. Well that's whom I'm kind of quoting..." Before continuing he tried to find the right words to describe such a person. "You know Will Schuester right? Let's just say she makes his life a living hell to the very last hair pun. They're actually quite clever though, Finn and I made this long list of her best ones. Or at least the ones we could both remember..."

As Blaine pitched in a quip about going to 'Gel Users Anonymous' Sam had nearly lost it in regards to the overwhelming, hilarious mental images that had followed with the comment. He could see Will and Blaine in a dusty room at a community center sitting on plastic chairs in a circle with other gelled freaks. As they confessed their sins of over using the product and the process they made.

"Hi I'm Blaine Anderson," Sam mocked, channeling his inner-Blaine. "And I'm a hair gel addict."
"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Blaine," he mimicked the drowsy voices of the others but he had to stop for his laughter had prevented him from speaking.

"Anyways," he glanced at the clock and noted that his parents wouldn't be home soon...wait. They wouldn't be home for like another 24 hours. "So what do you want to do?" Sam asked, as he tried brainstorming ideas of what the two could invest their time in. "I mean, its cool if you want to go back to Dalton and stuff or you can chill here...whatever is best for you...."
