"I didn't wanna press him for information, he seemed pretty beat up, literally."

"Beat up!" Rachel cried. Sure, he had looked a little worse for wear, but Rachel hadn't expected Kurt to have been beat up. It had to have been Karofsky. Her tiny hands clenched into fists. Why couldn't he just leave Kurt alone? And why hadn't she noticed anything? She felt like a bad friend. She had noticed before, why not now? She decided she would broach the topic carefully next time she saw Kurt. "I hope he's alright," she murmured.

"So do I....so considering I'm moving in with you, I think we should get better introduced."

Rachel nodded and gestured to one of the chairs. "Sounds like a good idea," she agreed. "Tell me a bit about yourself Alex."

Alex smiled and sat down.
"Well my name is Alexandria, I moved to New York when I was seven..." Alex skimmed through her brain for more facts "I love drama, singing and dancing, I have never had a boyfriend and that's it really...except I did some seriousish acting in New York but I'd rather not talk about that." Alex said with a slightly guilty smile.

Despite the fact that Alex had a voice that Rachel was slightly jealous over, she was starting to warm up to the girl. They definitely shared a lot of the same interests, which was nice. "You lived in New York? Why would you leave New York for Lima?" Rachel asked incredulously. She raised an eyebrow. "Serious-ish? How serious is serious-ish?"

"I wanted to see the other side of my family again. I missed them..." Alex said "Nothing much...I did a little work on broadway." Alex said slightly nervously. She remembered what Kurt said about not mentioning anything but she couldn't help it. It was essentially the only interesting fact about her.

If Rachel had been drinking anything, she would have just choked. "Broadway?!" she spluttered. "You were on Broadway?!" She didn't know what to make of this. She didn't know whether she should hate her instantly or beg for details. She decided to go with the latter. "What show were you in? What role?"

Rachel had reacted better than she had initially thought.
"I was in Wicked...I was Elphaba."

Rachel could have passed out. Wicked. Elphaba. One of Rachel's dream roles, and Alex, Kurt's cousin, had already lived it. She was positively burning with jealousy. Why anyone would ever leave Wicked for Lima, she couldn't imagine. "Tell me all about it," Rachel said eagerly. "Everything. I want to know it all." Finally, a chance to learn even more about Broadway than she couldn't have found out on her own!

"It was breathtakingly amazing. The spotlight on your face, people cheering for you, kissing a really cute boy after you sing a duet...it was like a dream come true." Alex finished with a dreamy sigh.

"It sounds it," Rachel agreed. "Did you meet any big stars? Directors? Composers?" She was curious to hear about any of her possible future co workers and bosses.

"Joe Jonas played Fiyero."

Rachel raised an eyebrow. "A Jonas Brother on Broadway?" she questioned. While she didn't have any major problems with the boy band, she would never have guessed that any of them would be stage performers, and certainly not stages on Broadway. "That must have been nice. Who was Glinda?"

"I know I was questioning his presence but he was shockingly good....Helen Dallimore and it was an honour performing with her."

"You're kidding! The same woman who originated the role on West End?" Rachel asked astonished. She shook her head. "I have yet to see the show on a venue like Broadway and you've performed with one of the originals of the role from the London equivalent of Broadway. I will not lie to you, I am extremely envious of you."

Alex smiled.
"Oh please don't...so Rachel we've spoken about me...tell me about you."

Rachel beamed as the focus shifted onto her. Smoothing her skirt, she replied, "My full name is Rachel Barbra Hudson. I am an aspiring actress who will one day be a Broadway star, the likes of which have not been seen since Barbra Streisand herself, though of course I will never be as amazing as she is. I will be very close, however. I have been dancing and singing before I could walk and talk, and have won numerous awards for both. I have just begun delving into song writing. I am proud co-captain of New Directions, and am married to the most wonderful man in existence," she said in one breath.

"It's very nice to meet you and I'm glad we got off to a good start." Alex grinned.

Rachel blinked in surprise. Alex had seemed to take the news about her marriage in stride, which is something she had not yet encountered. She grinned back hesitantly. So she was a bit put out by the girl's stellar vocals, but she seemed very nice and Rachel was always glad for a new friend. "Same to you," she replied.

"So you mentioned you were married?"

Rachel stiffened, but kept the smile fixed on her face. It was bound to happen sometime. Better sooner than later, right? "Why yes, yes I did. To Kurt's step brother Finn, actually. Hence why I'm living in the Hummel household," she replied.

"Oh wow really?!" Alex smiled. She still hadn't met her new step-cousin and she was really looking forward to it. She was really looking forward to meeting everyone in the family.

"Yes, really," Rachel said, nodding. "It wasn't quite the popular decision at the time, but we are very happy and everyone seems to be adjusting very well," she continued smiling. Everyone did seem to adjusting well. Sure, there may have been times where things still got slightly awkward, but it was working out better than she could have hoped.

"Well I'm very glad you're happy and I cannot wait to meet him."
