Separate Thread For The Duck Pond

Alex was down by the duck pond. Brittany had told her about this place but she didn't think for a second it would be this relaxing. Alex was sitting by the waters edge waiting.

Brittany pulled up to the duck pond since it was Wednesday. She had her bag of goodies, like always. She walked to the pond and saw someone else there already. "Oh! Hi car finder! I'm glad you came! It's been a lot better recently with the breakup. Ellie has gotten better at not trying to drown herself. I think Jake may be moving on though since...oh wait, you don't know everyone yet. Duh." She turned to the pond and whistled loudly. "Hey guys! We have a new friend! Come say hi!" Sure enough, all the ducks came over. "Alex, I'd like you to meet Ellie, Jake, Marco, Avery, Lindsay, Robin, Antonio and Pierre." She pointed to a different duck each time she said a name, then sat down and started untying her bag.

Alex smiled as she saw Brittany walking towards her. "Hey." Alex smiled. Alex listened carefully as Brittany named each duck.

Brittany smiled at all her friends. "Now play nice. I brought bread. Normal bread because you guys complained about the cinnamon. Sorry Ellie, I know it's your favorite." She finally got the bag open and pulled out a loaf of bread. She looked at Alex. "Wanna feed them? It's easy. Just do this." She grabbed a piece of bread and ripped a part and threw it in front of the ducks. Then she held the bag out for Alex.

Alex took a piece of the bread, ripped it and threw it to the ducks. "It's so peaceful here."

Brittany nodded. "Well, when they aren't fighting." She tore up another piece of bread and tossed it. "So, what have you been up to? I came here last week with Kurt's boyfriend. He's cute."

Alex nodded. She completely understood animal conflict. She threw another piece to the ducks. "Erm...singing really, me Kurt and Lucy looked at some stuff for prom but nothing else really....I've not met Blaine yet....is he nice?"

Brittany nodded. "Oh yeah. He dresses like a fancy penguin. He's real nice though. He sat with me for a really long time. Oh! And he said he'd come on my internet show sometime! And and! We're gonna go to the zoo too. A double date thing with Kurt and Artie as well."

"Sounds like fun. Is Artie your boyfriend?" Alex asked as she shifted position on the grass.

Brittany nodded. "Yup! His legs don't work, so he has to wear a wheelchair. But he's super sweet. Do you have a boyfriend? Or girlfriend?"

Alex smiled. "No I don't...I would like to have either though."

Brittany clapped. "Ooooh! We should find you someone! I don't really know who's all single though. We can ask Santana! She probably knows! She's my best friend. I left my phone in the car, but I can ask her later."

"That...sounds great." Alex smiled. "So we never really spoke properly the other week."

Brittany smiled. "You're right! We didn't. I was too busy trying to find my car. Don't worry though, I tied a ribbon to the back so I won't lose it again." She nodded.

"That was a smart thing to do." Alex said "So tell me about yourself."

Brittany thought for a moment. "Well, I'm in Glee Club and Cheerios. I have my internet talk show called Fondue for Two. My favorite colors are pink and blue. My cat likes to read my diary. I've made out with like, every boy in our school. What about you?" She smiled sweetly.

"I'm in Glee club, I've spent most of my life in New York, last year up to the start of this year I was staring as Elphaba in Wicked, I'm bisexual, I love animals and besides performing arts I love drawing." Alex finished.

[SORRY! Didn't get a chance to reply this morning!!]

Brittany smiled. "Oh, that's cool you got to play Alfalfa. Wait, how old are you? You got to star on Broadway already? That's so cool. I bet Rachel would be really jealous."

Alex giggled a little "I'm only 16...she took it quite well when I told her."

"Ooh! I just turned seventeen! And I'm a little surprised she didn't try to like, send you to a crackhouse or something. She's totally done that before." Brittany nodded. "Do you have like, any videos or anything. I wanna see!"

"I have a few online....and she's sent someone to a crackhouse?"

Brittany nodded like it was totally normal. "Yeah. This one tiny chick that's in Vocal Adrenaline now. She used to go to our school, but Rachel sent her to a crackhouse. I don't really know why." She shrugged.

"Jealous maybe?" Alex shrugged.

(So so so sorry it's taken me ages! Summer vaccation in Spain!!)

Brittany shrugged. "I dunno. Maybe. She was really tiny. I could have carried her in my pocket. It would have been awesome."

"That does sound awesome! I'd love to be able to carry someone in my pocket....then again I lose things easily." Alex grinned.
