The Choir Room

"Nice to meet you Derek." Alex smiled leading him further into the choir room.

Derek looked around nervous , He totaly wasnt used to it that people talked to him or where nice to him , because of al the traveling he didnt made friends , but now it was diffrent , he was going to stay here for the rest of his life.

"Don't look so scard sweetie. Come on, I'll introduce you to Kurt." Alex smiled.

Stutters enormously '' I-i dont k-know i d-dont talk t-that much t-to s-s-strangers '' he had his book pressed against his chest like it was a treasure and he was shaking a little bit.

"It's fine honey. Kurt is an angel!"

'' y-yeah t-that can b-be ... b-but still ... i-im not a p-person t-that talks m-much , i-i write more '' he looked at alex with a soft nervous smile '' a-and n-nobody e-ever talked to me...j-just without a r-real reason..the o-only one who talk to me a-are my parents''.

"Well I'm talking to you." Alex smiled trying to be as nice as possible.

'' a-and thats k-kinda weird for me...i never had frieds...i only traveld around the world , with my parents...s-so i d-didnt had t-time for friends'' Derek sighed soft.

"Well you can count me as a friend."

'' w-wait w-what? Y-you serious?'' he looked kinda surprised at alex , because he never had a friend before.

"Yeah seriously." Alex smiled.

'' m-merci m-ma'am...'' Derek smiled soft and looked a little around.

"You speak French? That's amazing."

'' m-ma'am i am f-from paris , i-ive been born there ''

"Please, it's Alex. And that's awesome."

He nodded soft '' o-oke a-alex , well i d-didnt lived t-there that long , i was a little kid when we moved away''

Dave watched with some interest at Hummel's cousin talking with the extremely shy new guy. He wondered briefly why the kid was so nervous. He was going to get eaten alive if he joined the glee club. Not by the glee clubbers, of course--he'd probably fit right in with most of those freaks. But being part of glee would make him a pretty big target, and if he were already nervous? Yeah, he was going to be singled out by the wolf pack for sure.

There was part of Dave that was tempted to warn the kid. But then he didn't. Maybe it would take the focus off of him for a while.

"Hey," he greeted, keeping his voice soft, trying to make himself seem less imposing than usual. He was still trying to figure out how to fit in with these people, and being nice and a "gentle-giant" sort seemed to be the best way he could figure for now.

Derek turneed around by hearing Dave '' U-uhh h-hee....'' He looked up because dave whas longer than him , Well Derek wasnt that big , he whas a little bit short for his age , That's what he thought.

Alex saw how nervous Derek looked when Karofsky spoke. The look had appeared so familiar. Everyone usually looked at Karofsky that way. "Don't worry about Dave. He's inclined to be nice." Alex whispered sweetly. She looked around the room. "So....Kurt had his fifteen minutes of fame....do I get to have mine now?" Alex asked with a small laugh. She was dying to sing another song, she felt as if all her creativity and passion had been bottled up for far too long now.

'' i-i w-wasnt worrying o-or something .... i-im just so n-nervous...'' Derek spoke , well why would he worry about someone he didn't knew? he didn't even knew the guy , but he looked kinda nice.

Dave wasn't sure exactly what Alex had whispered to the new kid, but he was fairly sure that it was about him, and he could have sworn that she used the word "nice". He honestly wasn't sure how to feel about that. He couldn't remember the last time anyone had said such a thing about him. And the truth was...he wasn't a nice person. He hadn't been for a long time. But that there was one person who thought that about him...? And that it was Hummel's cousin, no less? He smiled.

When she suggested that she sing something, he was the first to nod. "That'd be cool. Show Derek how we do it. And maybe it'll give Schue--if he ever gets here--some ideas for that...regional thing." Yeah, that sounded like what these guys normally sounded like, right? He could do this. He could fit in.

'' w-what is r-regional o-or something?? '' Derek asked while looking around the room , it looked a lot like some music class...but he couldnt find out what was really going on here.

Kurt's eyes widened at the question. "What is regionals?" He dramatically placed his hand over his heart. "Only the biggest competition short of Nationals. We win this, we go to New York!" he explained.

"And this year we've got it in the bag! Not that I'm bragging." Alex laughed before rising from her chair. She had gotten Dave's go ahead and that was all she needed. She took a seat in the centre of the room and warmed herself up.

Kurt clapped, blinking back his own tears at the beautiful but sad song his cousin was singing with such heartbreaking emotion. "That was amazing," he congratulated her. "Watch out, Rachel Berry," he teased both his friend and his cousin lightly.
