Re: The Hallway

Dave scowled as he slammed his locker shut. The holidays were over far too soon and his dad was already on his case about getting his grades back up. He even suggested that Dave take Ms. Pilsbury up on her offer to talk to him about his 'impulse control' issues. He snorted as he mulled those words over. He didn't have issues with anything but Hummel, but he could hardly talk about those with her. Nobody could ever know about that or his life would be over.

Dave scouted the halls, looking for Azimio or one of the other guys, but it was early enough that none of them were there yet. He stopped into the cafeteria, needing a pick-me-up. Smirking, he returned to the hall with a large blue slushie in his hand as he began looking for any of the Glee club freaks.

“Excuse me?”, Emma let out a meek whimper. She hesitated as she saw the blue slushy in his meaty hands. It was quite clear that he had no intention on drinking that. “Dave,” she said to him, timidly, “I’m Emma Pillsbury, the guidance counsellor. I’ve heard that you were temporary expelled.” She was losing all stableness in her voice, she calmly argued with the voice inside her head to snap out of it since she was the authority figure who needed to take charge.
“Anyways”, she continued, “I thought it’d be a splendid idea if you and I would…” she gulped the last bits of her fears, “If you and I would, schedule a meeting so we can have a little chat in my office.” Emma flashed him a strained smile, hoping she’d come off as friendly. “I’m sure we have much to discuss after some of the issues and pressures going on…”
“So, I was thinking that every day after your football practice or what not, you can meet me in my office. We don’t have to get into the nitty-gritty details…I just want to help you feel more comfortable at this school and give you the opportunity to express your inner thoughts and feeling.” When she was finished, she drew a breath of relief and waited impatiently for the bully’s answer.

Dave's anger began to boil as he listened to Ms. Pilsbury's suggestion. Talk about his issues, pressures, thoughts and feelings? Did she know? Had Hummel blabbed before he ran off to that fancy school of his? He grit his teeth as he reigned in his temper. He raised an eyebrow as he looked down at the smaller woman and noticed that she looked very nervous, almost a little bit afraid. He thrilled just a tiny bit at that realization, though it wasn't nearly as satisfying as when Hummel gave him that look. "Yeah," he heard himself agreeing, knowing that he probably wasn't really being asked if he wanted to attend these sessions. More likely his father had already called the school to arrange for them. "I'd like that," he lied, smirking down at the anxious woman. He stepped closer, testing to see what she would do.

Emma couldn't remeber if her heart was working by that point, but she it must of been since she was breathing in and out like their was a restriction of oxygen within the room. She never was really claustrophobic but with such a tight space between her and this stalky giant, she might as well of been. Feeling the tension rise between them, she shot her head down and stared at her Kate Spade Kylie pumps. They were brand new from her shopping trip the past weekend and she felt relatively unstoppable as her the sound of new clean, heels clicked as she strut. A feeling of high confidence was a rare to Emma and currently it was no exception. The shoes that made her feel invincible this very morning seemed to be bringing her down a notch or two.

Suddenly, Sue Sylvester turned the corner, she was determined to look like a strong, independent woman in front of Sue and as if she was totally capable of handling intimidating students. With one short breath, she stepped back from Dave. “Okay, that sounds swell. I expect to see you in my office straight after football.” With a quick turn of her trusty pumps, she strutted away from the modern Neanderthal.

“Don’t be late,” she warned, as she continued on her stride of dignity.

Dave couldn't help but feel a lot better as he walked away from the counselor. Talking with her made him feel something that he hadn't really felt since Hummel stopped showing up at school. Powerful and in complete control. The best part, he hadn't even had to threaten her at all for her to see how powerful he was. Even if she told someone about their little encounter, what could she really say? He'd simply agreed to come talk to her after football. Anything else would easily be passed off as her own imagination. She always seemed pretty nervous anyway, he figured, considering how she normally looked whenever he saw her in the halls.

It wasn't as thrilling as it was when he had Hummel cornered or anything, but it felt good to get at least a little bit of a taste of that feeling again. Until he could find a way to get to Hummel, just maybe these little meetings would be a big help to him after all.

His day got even brighter a few minutes later as he rounded the corner and spotted that Mercedes girl from the Glee Club. Wouldn't you know it? The perfect target for the blue slushie in his hand. Before she even had a chance to duck and cover, he let it fly.

Emma attempted to keep her head held high as she clicked, clacked her way down to her office even though she was quite startled when she heard a scream from Mercedes in the hallway. She knew that Dave had found his target. She shook her head in dismay and told herself after she was done with him there would be no slushy facials. Well none for him at least anyways, she was strong-minded into thinking that she could assist Dave into embracing his soft side. She’d have to dig deep under that solid- rock ego of his, I mean, he must think he’s more superior terrifying an innocent student into attending a totally different school. She will find the sensitive Dave Karofsky, even if she had to get a little messy on the way of doing so.

Brittany is walking down the hall towards her locker. She gave up on cheer practice, since nobody showed up. She hoped they weren't suppose to meet somewhere else and they forgot to tell her. She didn't really want to be in trouble with Sue, since she was usually on her good side. She finally got to her locker and just stared at it. During the winter break she forgot her combination. "Crap.." She tried pulling up on the little lever, thinking that maybe it would just open, but no luck. Santana probably knew her combination, maybe Artie did too.

After having a refreshing Christmas Break, Artie rolled his way through the hallways of the school. This was proving to be more difficult than he hoped for, but everyone was bursting with glee at the sight of the friends they had not seen in a few weeks. He had gotten a new sweater vest for Christmas and decided to wear it today, it consisted of blue and white swirls, very fashion forward, or so he thought. Watching the people around him more so than he should be, he spotted Brittany at her locker looking very confused. Artie pulled off to the side to see what was up. "Hey babe! Why do you look so sad?"

Brittany jumped a little when she heard someone talking. She looked around, and finally saw Artie. Her face immediately lit up. "Artie! Hi!" She leaned down and kissed him quick on the cheek. "I forgot my locker combination. I wrote it down on a post-it and stuck it on the inside so I wouldn't forget when I got back from break. Now I can't get to it." She made a sad face.

Upon hearing the reason, Artie chuckled a little bit. He had to admit that Brittany was not the smartest person around, but Artie loved her just the same. "Don't worry about it, I got cha covered." He reached up to the locker and spun the dial landing on three different numbers. Lifting the lever, the locker opened. "There ya go."

She bounced and clapped excitedly. "Thanks Artie! You're the best!" She quickly studied the numbers she had written down on her post it. She grabbed the things she needed and closed the locker again. She turned and smiled at Artie. "How are your robot legs?" Of course she forgot what they were actually called. "I told you Santa could do anything." She smiled sweetly.

Remembering all of the things that happened before break, Artie could still not figure out who gave him the ReWalker, it kind of bugged him but that was the whole idea of the season; giving. "You were right Brittany, Santa can do anything, I should not have doubted that for one second." He knew there was no Santa but did not have the heart to tell her that. "Its great, actually, but I chose to not use them at school, it takes awhile for me to get from place to place when I use them, but it is almost like walking for real."

She leaned against the locker casually as she talked. "That's understandable. Hey! Maybe sometime we can go to a park or something! There's benches and stuff if you get tired too. Probably have to wait until it gets warmer though. I get cold outside, having to wear a skirt all the time." She nodded.

Liking the way that sounded he nodded. "Thats an awesome idea!" Artie then looked down to see what she was talking about and she was right. "Do you always have to wear skirts? Don't you have like pants or something?" Knowing that Sue and the Cheerios had basically all the money they could ever want, the least she could do was to spring for some pants.

She shook her head, making her ponytail swish back and forth. "No, Sue says to keep up the image of a Cheerio we must wear skirts at all times. I only get to change out of it for Glee performances and when I go to bed. Oh, and showering too. I tried wrapping it in plastic once to shower in, but it didn't work. I'm tried to convince Coach to find waterproof uniforms for us."

"Well that really blows. It just makes it alot easier for you to get sick." Artie was actually worried about her health, he cared so much about her. He did not want her to get sick. "If all of you get sick it will be on Sue's hands. How do you think she would handle that?"

She smiled, he was so sweet. She had never dated anyone like him before. Actually, she really hadn't dated too many people in general. For her it was mostly just sleeping around. It was a nice to change to be with someone that actually cared about her. "Coach Sue makes us drink these protein shake things. They are really gross, but they keep you very healthy. We don't mind though, being a cheerio is like being royalty."

"Alright, but as soon as you begin to get sick, I am going straight to her to complain." Artie smiled at Brittany. He knew about the Cheerios being like royalty and with three of them in glee club, even though they started out for the wrong reasons, made the club a little cooler. "I would not know what the feels like, I can't even dance so there is no way I could be a Cheerio or a dancer in glee club. I just stand on the side during the dances. It is not very fun." He felt bad for just letting his emotions out, but he trusted her and hoped she would respect what he says.

She smiled at him then sat delicately on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. "That's not true. You were the best when we did Proud Mary. I think you are one of the best in the club. You have to work twice as hard, and you always look adorable too. I like the new vest." She traced her hand slowly over his chest.

Artie began to blush a little at all of the compliments. "Really, you think so?" He was never reall the one to stand out from glee club with much talent, always being pushed out of the side for Finn and now Sam. "You know what Brittany, I say we go talk to Mr. Schue and demand the leads in the next group number. We are talented as well and we will not be forgotten about. What do ya say?"

She smiled. "Well, I am the most talented in the group. Oh, we got new assignments this week. We're doing Disney! We were suppose to draw movies, but I never got a chance to draw one. Mrs.P came in and it got awkward so I left. We could go talk to him and get our movie! Maybe we can do a duet." She smiled even more. After Britney Spears taught her how powerful she could be, she hoped she'd be able to get more solos in Glee. So far though, that hadn't really happened.

Artie nodded "Of course you are the most talented, thats one of the many great things about you." He smiled. He was still trying to register what she had just said, Disney? "I love Disney! We of course should do a duet. We will not take no for an answer. Let's go."

She laughed. "Mind if I catch a ride?" She smiled one of her irresistible smiles. "I told them about how I thought I was Ariel until I was 10. Then I tried breathing underwater and almost drowned. My sea father took away my fish powers and I've been trying to go back ever since." She sighed sadly.

"Sure, I don't mind." He began to roll down the hallway. "Well, we will have to get you back into the water soon, but only if I can go with you. Maybe he can grant me a tail of my own?" He chuckled but continued on his way down the hallway to find Mr. Schue.
